As 2009 came to a conclusion, NPR Host Robert Siegel broadcast an on-point story about the top apology news of 2009 (The Year in Apologies: 12/31/2009). We knew NPR reporters, in addition to having harder to pronounce than usual names, were with it.
Even better, he talks with consultant etiquette consultant Emily Post about what makes an apology effective. Namely, she says that you need to offer a solution, and you need to be sincere for your apology to be effective. From our perspective, that's definitely a good start.
Listen to his piece - interspersed with Brenda Lee's "I'm Sorry" serenade - and remember the year of the Apology. And the year of the birth of THE APOLOGY CHANNEL!
