In the wake of the backlash against Pat Robertson’s “deal with the devil” comments about Haiti, it only seems logical that conservative commentator’s might want to lay off the controversial bigoted comments.
But logic is not what was driving Rush Limbaugh last week when he declared that “To some people ‘banker’ is code for Jewish.” And yes, this was in the context of Obama is really screwing those Jew bankers.
While Limbaugh’s comments are far from shocking coming from Limbaugh’s mouth, they are no less excusable.
A history of offensive behavior is not justification for current offensive behavior.
